Know Your Air.

CS Instruments was founded in 2002 in Tannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with a single focus: measurement instruments for compressed air and industrial gases. Every product in the line — dew point meters, flow meters, leak detectors, oil-vapor analyzers, and multi-parameter recorders — is developed, manufactured, and calibrated in Germany under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

The company built its sensing technology in-house for every ISO 8573-1 parameter: moisture, particles, and residual oil vapor. That matters because a single-brand instrument train can be calibrated, documented, and audited from one source — no inter-vendor calibration disputes when the compliance record goes to the customer's quality team. The DS 500 data recorder ties the full parameter set into a single audit trail.

CS Instruments has grown from one person at founding to around 85 staff, with distribution partnerships across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The product line is specified by energy auditors, compressed-air system contractors, and plant engineers who need to measure before they can manage — and who need the measurement to stand up in an ISO audit.

Why source CS Instruments through SPC Company?

Sourced direct, calibration-backed

SPC carries CS Instruments as an authorized channel, so instruments ship with full factory calibration documentation — not grey-market stock.

Specified to the measurement job

CS Instruments covers every monitoring parameter SPC sells against — dew point, flow, leak rate, and ISO 8573-1 air quality.

The audit that sells the upgrade

An energy audit with CS Instruments gear is SPC's proven door-opener — the LD 500 prints a dollars-per-year leak cost and the VA Series gives a baseline CFM number, together making the business case for fittings, dryer upgrades, and piping work that SPC then supplies.

Not sure which CS Instruments line?

Tell us what you need to measure and we'll point you to the right CS Instruments line.
What do you need to measure?

Dew point only → FA or DP 500 Series (fixed or portable). Flow only → VA Series thermal mass meter. Leaks → LD 500 ultrasonic detector. Full ISO 8573-1 audit covering dew point, particles, and oil vapor → combine the FA, OIL CHECK 500, and PC 400 with a DS 500 recorder to consolidate the trail.

Permanent installation or periodic audit?

Fixed inline instruments (VA 520, FA inline) suit permanent monitoring with alarm outputs and Modbus integration. Portable instruments (VA 500/550 hot-tap, LD 500, DS 500 transport set) are the right choice for periodic certification rounds or audit visits where the same kit covers multiple sites.

Live pipe or planned shutdown?

The VA 500/550 hot-tap insertion probe installs into a live pressurized pipe with no shutdown. Inline instruments require a planned isolation. If downtime is not available, specify a hot-tap model.

Modbus / SCADA integration required?

All VA Series flow meters include Modbus-RTU as standard; optional Ethernet/PoE is available on some models. DS 500 recorders support digital output for SCADA-connected continuous monitoring loops.
