Proven. Reliable.

Square D was founded in 1902 in Detroit, Michigan, and built its first business around enclosed electrical safety switches — a category that became the template for industrial electrical enclosures. The brand name Square D was officially adopted in 1917.

In 1965 Square D introduced the Type S motor starter, which has remained the US industrial standard for more than 60 years. Schneider Electric acquired Square D in 1991, making it the flagship electrical brand of one of the world's largest energy-management companies.

For the compressed-air industry, Square D is the OEM default: the 9012 and 9013FHG pressure switches, and the 8910/8911 magnetic starters and contactors, ship on more US-manufactured compressor packages than any competing brand. That install base means replacement parts are widely catalogued and universally recognized — eliminating cross-reference uncertainty on a downed machine.

Square D pressure switches carry UL listing and CSA certification. The 8910/8911 starters are manufactured to NEMA standards and are UL Listed, with melting-alloy overload technology that has proven itself in industrial compressor duty for decades. The result is an electrical platform where the original OEM spec and the replacement part are the same catalog number, every time.

Why source Square D through SPC Company?

The right part number, confirmed

SPC can identify the right Square D part number, confirm current availability and lead time, and source it through its distribution network.

OEM fitment knowledge

Because Square D is the US OEM default on most compressor packages, SPC's familiarity with the 8910/8911 and 9012/9013 lines means you get the right replacement part number the first time — no cross-reference roulette on a downed machine.

Controls paired with compressed-air expertise

SPC sells the compressor ecosystem: air end, treatment train, and the controls.

Not sure which Square D line?

Tell us what the compressor needs and we'll point to the right Square D part.
Rotary screw or reciprocating compressor?

The 9012GNG5 is the standard rotary-screw pressure switch (3–150 PSI adjustable, 475 PSI max working). The 9013FHG series is the common reciprocating-compressor switch with fixed differential in the 80–175 PSI range.

Motor HP and voltage?

The 8910/8911 platform covers 2–30 HP at 110–480 V. Match the B-series heater element to the motor full-load amperage from the motor nameplate — the B0.44–B88 range spans the compressor motor applications.

Is HOA (Hand-Off-Auto) switching needed?

The 8911DSS HOA kit adds hand-off-auto switching to the 8911 starter without a separate selector switch enclosure — common for compressors that need local manual override capability.

Replacement or new installation?

For a replacement, match the existing switch or starter catalog number directly — Square D OEM fitments do not require cross-referencing. For a new installation, confirm voltage, HP, and enclosure NEMA rating before ordering.
