The Safety Coupler Standard
Built safe. By design.
Founded in 1978 in Annecy-le-Vieux, France — a precision-manufacturing hub in Haute-Savoie — Prevost set out to solve a problem the industry had accepted: compressed-air quick couplings that disconnected under pressure, whipping hoses and injuring operators. The result was the world's first push-button quick disconnect coupling with a controlled-venting action, and the benchmark that eventually became the prevoS1.
Over four decades, Prevost built a full air-distribution ecosystem around that founding idea: safety-vented couplings in composite and stainless-steel bodies, matched plugs across every major industrial profile, OSHA-compliant blow guns, and engineered aluminum piping systems. Today the company ships to more than 80 countries, with 90% of products manufactured at its own facilities in France and Italy. The prevoS1 safety coupling — launched in 2007 and now the most specified safety quick-coupler in the world — releases pressure before the plug separates in every unit, by design, with no operator action required. ISO 4414 compliance, ATEX 2 rating, anti-static construction, and a 3-year leak-free guarantee are standard across the line.
SPC sources Prevost prevoS1 couplings in core Industrial and CA profiles through its distribution network — covering the SKUs a shop is most likely to need for a safety upgrade or line expansion.
Every prevoS1 socket SPC supplies is safety-vented by design, so quoting OSHA 29 CFR 1910.242(b) hose-whip compliance is a catalog selection, not a custom ask.
Through its distribution network, SPC can source Prevost aluminum piping alongside couplings and blow guns — giving a facility a single distributor contact for the full air-distribution build-out, not a parts list spread across vendors.
Automotive Manufacturing → Composite non-marring body and ATEX 2 rating for paint booths and assembly lines.
General Manufacturing → Standard prevoS1 safety couplings for OSHA-compliant pneumatic tooling at every drop.
Metalworking & Fabrication → Stainless-steel body couplings for wash-down and corrosive coolant environments.
Chemical & Petrochemical → ATEX 2 and anti-static rating for classified areas handling flammable or explosive atmospheres.
Construction & Infrastructure → Rugged composite body couplings for portable compressor and jobsite tool connections.
Food & Beverage Processing → Silicone-free, corrosion-resistant stainless couplings where contamination cannot be tolerated. Classified areas (paint, chemical, explosive atmosphere) require the ATEX 2 / anti-static prevoS1. Standard manufacturing environments can use the composite-body prevoS1 in Industrial or CA profile.
Composite for light weight, non-marring, and solvent resistance in dry environments. 17% chromium stainless for wash-down, caustic cleaning, or where the body contacts food-grade surfaces.
Prevost matches Industrial, European, Tru-Flate, and ARO profiles. Specify the existing plug profile in the facility so the prevoS1 socket integrates without requiring a fleet swap.
If the project covers only the coupling points, specify prevoS1 sockets and matched plugs. For a full build-out — mains, drops, and work-point accessories — Prevost aluminum piping and blow-gun kits complete the system from one supplier.
