Mufflers. Breathers. Done.

Allied Witan Company (ALWITCO) has manufactured industrial noise-control devices from its Cleveland, Ohio base for more than 75 years. The company built its reputation on the Atomuffler — introduced in the late 1940s and still in production — a porous-metal air exhaust muffler that became a reference product for pneumatic silencing across industrial plants.

The Bantam series followed, extending the line into compact and space-constrained applications. SPC carries two Allied Witan product types: pneumatic exhaust mufflers that silence cylinder and valve exhaust ports, and porous-metal breather-vent- filters that keep contaminants out of open tank and reservoir points. Both are built from corrosion-resistant all-metal materials for long service life with minimal maintenance in industrial environments. Allied Witan publishes test data showing substantial exhaust noise reduction with Atomuffler products

Why source Allied Witan through SPC Company?

Right-size spec support

Mufflers and breathers are often afterthoughts until exhaust noise or contamination becomes a problem.

One point of contact

SPC can identify the right Allied Witan part number, confirm current availability and lead time, and source it through its distribution network — a single point of contact for quoting, lead time, and after-sale support.

The distribution network

Through SPC's distribution network, Allied Witan availability is backed by aggregated demand across the network, so the exhaust muffler and the matching breather vent can be quoted and sourced together on one order.

The Allied Witan lineup

Breather Vent Image pending

Porous Metal Breather-Vent-Filters (F18-F168, 1/8"-2")

Porous-metal breather-vent-filters that vent and equalize pressure on an open reservoir point while keeping particulate out of the tank on the intake stroke — silencing plus filtration in one all-metal unit.

Sintered Bronze Muffler Image pending

Atomuffler (Single Chamber 1/8"-2", Multi-Chamber 3"-6") / Bantam (B18-B168, 1/8"-2")

Pneumatic exhaust mufflers that thread into a valve or cylinder exhaust port and silence the discharge — the full-size Atomuffler where port space is open, and the compact Bantam where the manifold layout is tight.

Not sure which Allied Witan line?

Tell us what the exhaust source is and we'll point you to the right Allied Witan component.
What is the exhaust source?

Valve or cylinder exhaust → Atomuffler or Bantam series in the port thread size. Open tank or reservoir breather point → porous-metal breather-vent- filter.

How much space is available at the port?

Standard Atomuffler where port space is open. Bantam compact series for high-density manifold layouts where overall muffler length is constrained.

What is the noise-reduction target?

Atomuffler products are engineered for substantial exhaust-noise reduction. If the application requires documented noise reduction to meet an OSHA or facility standard, request the Allied Witan test spec for the specific muffler series.

Does the breather point need filtration?

A standard muffler on a breather port reduces exhaust noise but does not filter inbound air on the intake stroke. Specify the porous-metal breather- vent-filter where the breather opening must also prevent particulate ingestion into the reservoir.
