Practical, accessible compressed air for the working shop.
Built to run. Priced to start.
Founded in 1981, ABAC has spent more than four decades building compressed air equipment for the working shop — not the spec sheet. The line covers the entry and mid-tier where price drives the buying decision: two-stage piston compressors for the light-industrial workshop and oil-injected rotary screw units for the small-to-medium enterprise that needs reliable continuous duty at an accessible number.
ABAC is part of the Atlas Copco Group, which means the design pedigree and supply chain are backed by one of the world's largest industrial companies, without the premium-brand price tag.
In the US market, the line ships under the AS-B rotary screw family (5-30 HP, base-mount or tank-mount with optional integrated dryer) and the Ironman two-stage piston range (full cast-iron construction, single- and three-phase). For accounts where the decision comes down to budget first and the application is a real shop, ABAC gives SPC a credible answer in both compressor types — carried as a direct, authorized account with full compressor and parts coverage.
SPC carries ABAC as a direct, authorized account — the full compressor and parts line.
Not every job calls for a premium rotary screw.
Through the distribution network, ABAC availability is backed by aggregated demand across the network, with SPC as the single point of contact for quoting, lead time, and after-sale support.
General Manufacturing → Reliable shop air for pneumatic tooling and general plant utility.
Metalworking & Fabrication → Continuous-duty rotary screw air for machining, grinding, and finishing.
Woodworking & Furniture → Two-stage piston or small rotary screw for cabinet and finish shops.
Automotive Manufacturing → Shop air for tire service, body work, and light assembly tooling.
Construction & Infrastructure → Portable and stationary piston units for on-site contractors.
Agriculture & Food Production → Practical, accessible compressed air for farm shop and ag maintenance. Piston (Ironman / Pro) for intermittent-duty applications under 10 HP where a simpler, lower-cost machine fits the work — small shops, duty cycles under 60%. Rotary screw (AS-B) for continuous or near-continuous duty, multi-tool operations, or any application above 10 HP.
The piston line covers 5-10 HP for single-tool or light multi-tool shops. The AS-B rotary screw runs 5-30 HP — 5-20 HP for the small-to-mid shop, 20-30 HP for heavier continuous-duty loads. Above 30 HP, step up to Quincy.
Single-phase (230V) is available on piston units for shops without three-phase service. Three-phase (208-230-460V) is standard on rotary screw and larger piston units — confirm the service before quoting.
The AS-B tank-mount-with-dryer (TMD) bundles a refrigeration dryer into the unit footprint. Spec it when the account needs dry air but lacks room or budget for a stand-alone dryer. Base-mount (BM) when a downstream dryer is already in place.
Tell us the spec and the account and we will come back with the right line, sourced through the distribution network.
